Prue Leith CBE

Restaurateur, author, businesswoman and philanthropist

Prue started her hospitality career in catering with Leith’s Good Food, Leith’s Restaurant - which won a Michelin Star - and Leith’s School of Food and Wine. She has been a food columnist for UK newspapers, including the Daily Mail, Sunday Express, the Guardian and the Daily Mirror and has written 12 cookbooks, seven novels and her autobiography, Relish. Prue was a board member of Belmond (formerly Orient-Express Hotels) for many years and she is a judge on the BBC’s Great British Menu show.

Prue has been deeply involved in food education, founding and chairing a number of charities, training young cooks and raising awareness of healthy eating. She received the CBE in 2010 for her services to school food and nutrition, the Veuve Clicquot ‘Business-Woman of the Year’ in 1990, and holds 13 honorary degrees / Fellowships from UK Universities. She is currently writing a family saga of three novels, with the development of food from wartime rationing to the modern world of five star hotels, TV chefs and molecular gastronomy.
